I've always thought that I was born in the wrong decade. Don't get me wrong. I absolutely love today's advance technology and how far we've come in society, but there's definitely a reason why so many decade favorites are making a comeback. My fashion inspiration stems from a variety of places but I've always resonated with the 40s and 50s, not just through their style but also from the culture, romance and simplicity during those times.
In this look, I've combined some of the details I've currently loving. This rich emerald pleated midi skirt makes a statement on its own with its' elegance and movement. I simply fell head over heels for it and tracked down this skirt in countless stores for over three months, until it finally became available recently. I was definitely relentless to get my hands on this gem. It was a fun twist to style the skirt with the black choker top blending in the influences of the 90s to this look. The finishing touch was definitely the duster coat which completely tied the whole outfit effortlessly and helped streamlined the colors together. It's super light, airy and has the ability or elevate any look simply with it's flattering silhouette.
Have you ever had a blast from the past with your style?
