Weekend Recap / Monday Motivation #6

Lately, my weekends have consisted of re-organizing and re-decorating my room. I've been feeling inspired to dig into my inner 15 year-old creative self and get my hands dirty with DIY decor projects that are festive and fun for occasions like The Academy Awards this past Sunday. Creating bow-tie champagne drinks and star mixers for my friend's viewing party that I attended added that extra element of fun for her guests. The red carpet was the undoubtedly the most exciting part of The Oscars for me, so sipping out of this adorable bow-tie glass made it seem very Hollywood-esque.

After seeing countless beauties glaze the red carpet that night, I finally narrowed down my four favorite looks. These ladies look incredibly stunning and jaw-dropping. From head to toe, the color, the silhouette, and the overall aesthetic was breath-taking.

In addition to drooling over the red carpet fashion, I re-arranged my work space and added motivational tidbits, florals, and a bit of sparkle to keep my room looking fresh and inspired everyday. I'm surprised that my boyfriend's Valentine's Day flowers have lasted this long, but that extra pop of color on my desk makes a huge difference in brightening up my mood, and I think incorporating florals (real or faux) will be something I'll do on a regular basis.

Another easy decor tip I found is to purchase some inexpensive frames from your local crafts store along with design paper of your choice and voila! You've got yourself a simple but chic way of spicing up your shelf. Another option is to spray paint the frames a matte gold color for a classy pop of gold, which is on my list next!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! What did you guys do, and what are you looking forward to accomplishing this week?

Stay warm and have a great week! xo

  3. You had some really cute decorations for your party and I love your workspace! I wasn't really wowed by any Oscar dresses this year, they were all pretty boring to me. :(
