Urban Decay's NAKED 2 Basics Palette

I was so excited to get my hands on Urban Decay's NAKED 2 Basics palette. I've been wanting the original NAKED Basics for quite some time, but wish they had more varying shades and once I found out a 2nd edition was coming out soon, I knew it would be worth the wait.

Urban Decay is well known for having great quality eye shadows, and this NAKED 2 Basics palette does not fall short of that at all. These shadows are gorgeous cool-toned neutrals, highly pigmented, and easy to blend. What I like most about this palette is the compact size, and that all shadows are matte with the exception of "Skimp" which is a shimmery champagne color. I like that "Skimp" is included in an all matte palette, because it's a beautiful base for the lid and works great for highlighting the brow bone and the inner corner of your eyes. I also really like "Primal" because it's a lovely chocolatey brown color that looks natural for everyday wear, but is also stunning if you build up the intensity for a more dramatic look.

These shadows are buttery and easy to work with, but I did find some of them (Stark, Frisk, and Cover) to be very powdery at times. That's not a breaking point for me. It just means a little goes a long way for these shadows, and a small tap on my makeup brush will pick up a lot of pigmentation.

This palette values at $29 and can be purchased at Sephora, Ulta, and UrbanDecay.com. If you are searching for a go-to neutral or matte shadows only, I highly recommend this NAKED 2 Basics palette, especially if you travel a lot. This is very convenient for busy and on-the-go ladies. However, if you own several neutral shadows that are equally pigmented, or you already have Naked 1 or 2, it won't be dramatically different or unique to add to your makeup collection.

Have you picked up the NAKED 2 Basics palette? What is your opinion on UD's latest craze?
